The process of travel planning has always been a burdensome and time inefficient task, which has become even more apparent as travelers have been increasingly drawn to platforms that provide real-time data with autonomy. Meanwhile there has been an increasing demand from travelers globally, especially younger users who are more engaged with technology, for intuitive and immersive platforms to assist them in discovery and organizing their trip. In response to this evolving market, artificial intelligence has begun to enter the travel experience in a transformative way. Mindtrip, co-founded by Andy Moss, Trey Matteson, and Garrick Toubassi, is leading this transformation through its AI-powered travel assistant, as we seek to redefine how people discover, plan, and engage with their travel experiences. Mindtrip utilizes artificial intelligence along with a modern interface to allow users to create custom itineraries, receive real-time recommendations, book flights, hotels and local experiences, and anything else about travel to the system— all in one platform. In addition to redefining the travel experience for many users, Mindtrip is keen to innovate this experience for Gen Z and Millennials, whom traditional travel services and platforms commonly ignore.

Travelers will have the ability to communicate with Mindtrip and provide them with experiences. Users can provide Mindtrip with travel ideas by typing in plain text prompts or pallets of the travel element, or attachment like screenshots, YouTube links, or TikTok videos. Mindtrip's AI technology analyzes the travel content, identifies the travel related aspects, and creates a travel itinerary (which includes suggestions and bookings or recommendations for bookings) and local experiences. Mindtrip's process for trip planning uses an innovative and user centered feature called "Start Anywhere". By engaging with the user in a conversational manner, both on the web and mobile app interfaces, Mindtrip also avoids the experience of typical static booking sites when travelers are using Mindtrip; proposing Mindtrip as a travel and experience companion. Additionally, to keep the traveler informed, inspired, and less overwhelmed while travelling, Mindtrip also has reminders, updates, and suggestions (for detours or events or things to do) during the trips. Collaborative travel planning makes it easy for travelers to plan a trip with their friends or family by integrating group chat or even shared itineraries through the platform. Users will even have the ability to upload their booking and document confirmations, and their scanning receipts, all in one place for added organization and piece of mind.Ultimately, Mindtrip is built as an AI powered travel companion that allows users everywhere to have an entirely free flight and travel conferencing experience; from personalizing itineraries based on the traveller's intents, to real-time event recommendations or recommended activities, to group chats and visibility of other groups itineraries. Although the basic service is still free, premium features are expected to expand as Mindtrip expands. They also launched "Mindtrip for Business", a B2B tool for travel platforms and agencies to take advantage of the AI there was strategic business revenue opportunities. The combination of consumer-facing solutions as well as business-facing solutions helps Mindtrip diversify their reach while continuously improving the service. The pricing for the premium and the enterprise plans are revealed upon inquiries and are the main revenue generators for the firm.
Mindtrip operates in over 30 countries with established markets (the USA, UK, Canada, Australia and Germany) with users all across. Currently, the U.S. accounts for approximately 35.2% of Mindtrip's total users. They are continuing to establish in new regions and have plans to further expand into new global territories. In 2025 they have already seen substantial performance to-date with rapid user base expansion and recognition. Mindtrip was recently highlighted on Fast Company’s article “The World’s Most Innovative Companies” as it related to the category of Travel, Leisure & Hospitality. The company has grown to now having over 30 employees reflecting expansion of business and demand. Recently they have also completed a Series A round where they raised $12 million, and have raised over $20 million in funding overall. Notable investors include Forerunner Ventures, Costanoa Ventures, and Amex Ventures. Although Mindtrip hasn’t yet become a unicorn, it is in a trajectory of growth and analysts are waiting to see where it lands for its next valuation.
Mindtrip competes with other AI-powdered travel startups and traditional booking platforms; however, it is uniquely positioned given its holistic, AI-first approach and focus on user experience. Mindtrip isn’t a standard app or bulky travel portal; it creates a flickering journey by allowing the user to plan, book and explore. Mindtrip's compelling strength comes from its promise to not only deliver travel content, but to incorporate and parse content from social media and deliver actionable travel plans. Co-founder Andy Moss mentioned, “We’re building the travel experience we always wished existed—personal, intelligent, and genuinely enjoyable.” With its intense focus on all things AI, tailored experiences and smooth cross-platform user journeys, it appears Mindtrip is poised to usher in the next generation of travel. The smart travel options are increasing, and in a world where millions will travel better, smarter experiences are an opportunity to shape how the world discovers. Mindtrip’s synergy of intelligent and delightful experiences may have a lasting impact on the travel industry as they explore the travelment. Although the company is far from unicorn status, it may prove to be a game changing innovation.
